Panel Discussion: Project Management from Different Industry Prespectives

Topic Description: Join us as we engage in an insightful discussion on Managing a PMO from Different Industry perspectives. Our panelist will discuss anything from the challenges of managing a PMO or PMs in their industry to generational gaps in the workforce and the different skills sets they look for when hiring. This will be an open discussion with preset questions and opportunities for audience questions.

About The Speakers:

Mike Dickey is the manager of the PMO for Devon Energy in Oklahoma City, OK.  His background includes nearly 30 years of project management experience in a variety of industries with nearly 20 years in the Energy sector.  Mike joined Devon in 2010 and has since been leading the transformation of the services and capabilities of Devon’s PMO.  Most recently, Devon has been focusing on improving project management capabilities throughout the company making it a core capability for all employees of how they work.  This has included focusing on improving its Project Portfolio Management capability throughout the company, utilizing standard stage gate practices in decision making for all projects and programs, and establishing a flexible project management framework that accommodates the diverse approaches of a wide variety of projects types.

David Addison is the Associate Director of the University of Oklahoma IT PMO. David is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2007, SAFe 4 Certified Agilist (SA) and Scrum Master (SSM).  He currently leading the Project Management Office for the University of Oklahoma IT Department. David holds a bachelor’s degree in Management and Ethics from MACU and is pursuing a master’s degree in Administrative Leadership from OU. Has served in various management and technical roles during his 25-year Information Technology career, with 20 of those years in state (including higher education) and federal government.

Mechille Braden is the Chief, KC-135 Stratotanker, International Programs, Legacy Tanker Division, AF Life Cycle Management Center, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. She plans, organizes, and oversees all related activities for acquisition and sustainment support for international KC-135 FMS allies/partners. Ms. Braden is a 1997 graduate of Wayland Baptist University. She started her Air Force civil service in 1999, as a Logistics Palace Acquire Intern, gaining foundational expertise in depot logistics, at Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center. Next, as a Program Analyst for the depot’s Information Management Business Area, she provided strategic planning of Tinker Air Force Base’s Information Technology to the base’s Chief Information Officer. As a B-52 Program Manager and then Deputy Project Manager for Logistics, she oversaw an Electronic Warfare Major Defense Acquisition Program.
