This presentation introduces the Program Management Improvement Accountability Act (PMIAA), public law 114-264, effective December 14, 2016 and what it means to us in the profession from the personal, professional and opportunity viewpoints. Intent of the PMIAA (and what was learned from the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ACCR)

  • The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) requirements to support the PMIAA
  • The GAO requirements to support the PMIAA
  • Scope of the PMIAA with the US Government
  • Likely impact on governments at different levels
  • Likely impact on contractors and subcontractors
  • How the PMIAA is likely to impact and influence the profession

 

Darrin Husmann, PMP -  Darrin’s vision is to create programs that provide relevant, accessible, effective and affordable training programs that will support and grow the Project Management profession within Oklahoma. Darrin serves as the Vice President of Professional Development oversees the Chapter training and education initiatives. Responsibilities include the planning and management of Professional Development Days (PDDs) and certification preparation courses. Mr. Husmann is a mutidisciplined professional with more than 15 years of experience in both Project Management and the development and support of corporate institutional training and education. Extensive experience and proven track record in compliance, curriculum development, and educational program life cycle support for programs at levels from individual training to multinational programs to support strategic objectives. Darrin works for a major defense contractor, where he manages projects and programs for the US Air Force Base Infrastructure transformation. Darrin is an Oklahoma native and resides in Edmond, OK with his wife of 25 years. He is also a Major serving as an Executive Officer and Exercise Project Manager for the US Army Reserves, 75th Training Command.

A special note on meals: Due to contract requirements with the Oklahoma History Center's (OHC) preferred catering vendor, outside food is not permitted to be brought into meetings.
