The world of project management is constantly bombarded with competing demand and multiple constraints. As a result project managers and technology professionals are consistently looking for new tools and techniques. While agile is not a tool best suited for all applications, in the world of software development Agile is a great tool. Agile is best suited for projects which can be broken down into short phases, reassessed frequently, and built in sprints.

Paul Fischer is an Agile professional. Paul has over 30 years of experience as a scrum master, project manager, program manager and principal consultant. He has worked in the industries of aerospace, retail, financial services, healthcare and hospitality. Drawing from his diverse experience, Paul bring a unique perspective to the world of Agile project management.

Paul’s presentation will define agile and identify how to best apply agile methods. Additionally, for those interested in an Agile career, Paul will help identify ways to make the transition.

Veteran Software Development and Project Management Professional

Paul Fisher, PMI-ACP, PMP, and CSM, is a seasoned information technology professional. With over 30 years of software development experience, Paul has spent 25 years leading software development teams across a broad range of industries. Those industries include aerospace, retail, financial services, healthcare, and hospitality.

For the past 8 years Paul has been leading agile teams as a scrum master, project manager, program manager, and principal consultant. His agile experience consists of both full agile environments as well as hybrid agile environments. He has experience leading both collocated agile teams and teams distributed across the US as well as internationally.

He is currently a senior project manager for Sonic Drive In. In his role he is leads multiple agile projects for the restaurant chain. His focus is to develop the next generation of their in-store technology.

He has been a member of the PMI OKC chapter since 2009 and is currently serving as the Director of Technology for the chapter.

Paul received his Bachelor of Science from Friends University in Mathematics and Computer Science and his Master of Science from Wichita State University in Computer Science with specialization in artificial intelligence.

Any person or organization not affiliated with PMI OKC may not use, copy, alter or modify PMI OKC photographs, graphics, videography or other, similar reproductions or recordings without the advance written permission of an authorized designee from PMI OKC.
